GSA Dollars, Uncertified. Dubbed the GSA Hoard, short for Government Services Administration, the branch of the U.S. government responsible for the dispersal of the dollars to the public. In the mid-1960's when the government was winding down their exchange of silver certificates for silver dollars, it was discovered in excess, over three million morgan dollars. Most of these were from the Carson City mint however approximately 125,000 coins were from mints other than Carson City. Sales were limited to thirty-five pieces per household.
